I am Marxist. Particularly in the vain of the Left Communist tradition of German-Dutch left and Italian Left.
I think that we should reevaluate Marxs critique of Capitalism in Capital and look to apply it to today. I see left Communist as closest understanding of Marx. To be clear I think Lenin should be respected for his historical context and situation, but freely criticized. To me Marx offered a clear path to communism which I see as the only option and best option available. Marx wrote in critique of the gotha program that there is to be a revolution, which is the dictatorship of proletariat than lower phase communism than higher phase communism.

The dictatorship of proletariat is the dictatorship of the entire proletariat class, not the party. We live under today the dictatorship of the bourgeois, which is why legislating Socialism to me seems unrealistic.

Stalin, Ho Chi Minh and Mao, Castro and Che, are not Marxists and should not be allowed to be called it. They are Totalitarians, particularly Stalinists and State Capitalists. They call themselves Marxist-Leninist because it has a more positive connotation than Stalinism. But it is a joke that has no historical relevance today. I think if we are looking for where to go next as a society we must look at Marx, Engels, Bordiga, Pannekoek, Lenin, and others of the Marxists and left com tradition.

We must look to separate marx from the counter revolution that is Stalinism and look to continue to fight for the working class through the building or joining of a international communist party or organization.
