One of the most interesting parts of Early Modern History is Mary Wollstonecraft, the First Feminist Historian.
She disagreed that history was the story of progress, but more of a story of mans oppression over women. She was self educated and even started a school for women.
She saw the only the future as a period of possible progress, in which woman could be emancipated from patriarchy.
To me this way of looking at history is important, because it shows the oppression of woman, and gives a look at how imprisoned woman really were to men. Not being allowed education, being property of the man, and seen as a tool for social reproduction.
The liberation of woman is not only important to me, but a necessity.
When All Woman are Free, than everyone will be free.
